About

MoveZ is a choreography-based fitness program. The focus is on making exercise enjoyable and fulfilling for people of all fitness levels.

What does a class look like?

The class starts with a brief grounding exercise to focus in on ourselves. We move our way through a playlist of great songs using dance, fitness and yoga movements. We end the class with stretching and a brief relaxation exercise.

What if I can’t do all the movements?

It is really important to us that people of all fitness levels feel welcome. We demonstrate modifications for more challenging fitness movements before or during each song. We want you to move in a way that is comfortable for you and suits your body. Modifications are always celebrated!

Do I need to be a good dancer?

Nope! All levels of dance are welcome. We strive to make the choreography easy for beginners to follow and interesting to keep more experienced dancers engaged. The point isn’t for everyone to look the same. As long as you’re moving, we’re happy!

Why a dance-inspired workout?

Our participants often tell us that they are so engaged by the movement and music that they don’t notice the workout! Dance is great for increasing fitness levels, balance and flexibility. Learning choreography is also excellent exercise for the brain. Performing movements together in-sync to music has been proven to decrease our sense of self and to help to enter a flow state. This increases feelings of connection, peacefulness and joy. Beyond the physical and cognitive benefits of the program, this is our ultimate goal.
